Kobelco Compressors Malaysia presents the Sarawak Industrial Synergy Seminar, held on July 29, 2026, at the Raia Hotel & Convention Centre in Kuching, bringing together industry leaders to discuss industrial utility optimization. The event focused on maximizing efficiency across air, steam, and gas systems.
Maximizing The Performance of Compressed Air Systems with Kobelco
Optimizing compressed air systems is crucial for reducing operating costs, especially considering that compressors can account for up to 25% of a manufacturing plant's electricity costs. During the Kobelco presentation, attendees learned that reducing the pressure setting by just 1 bar can save 7% of energy; adopting inverter technology like the KOBELION VS model; and using Kobelco Group Controller Model EM strategic group control operations, plants can significantly reduce energy consumption and extend maintenance intervals. Routine system audits and proactive leak detection were emphasized as key measures to prevent energy losses and maintain system reliability.
Cost-Effective On-Site Nitrogen Generation by Anox
Anox highlighted the transition to on-site nitrogen generation. The on-site pressure swing adsorption (PSA) nitrogen generation technology offers significant cost-effectiveness. A nitrogen generation system can reduce cost by up to 90% when compared to traditional methods of supply. This PSA technology provides exceptional operational flexibility. It allows an adjustment of nitrogen purity between 95% and 99.999% to meet the specific application requirements. In short, the on-site nitrogen generation offers a unique design and advanced energy-saving technology that requires less compressed air to generate more nitrogen. Substantially lower servicing costs, reduced downtime, and longer working life make it the most cost-efficient nitrogen supply available.
Efficiency and Safety with Miura Steam Boilers
Miura Boilers Malaysia highlighted the significant operational advantages of its vertical once-through boilers compared to traditional horizontal fire-tube boilers. These modular systems are designed for rapid power generation, providing steam in just five minutes, and achieving efficiencies of 90% to 95% when equipped with economizers to recover waste heat from exhaust gases. These systems offer enhanced safety; once-through boilers consume significantly less water, approximately 265 litres, compared to over 2000 litres for conventional systems. This minimizes the impact of stored energy in the event of system failures, although such failures are extremely rare.
Demonstration of Fully Integrated CDA & Nitrogen System
A major highlight of the seminar was the interactive, live display of a complete Compressed Dry Air (CDA) system, allowing attendees to see an efficient utility setup in person. The showcase featured a Kobelion VS22A4 compressor directly integrated with an air receiver tank that was fully equipped with a pressure gauge, auto drain, and safety valve.
To show air treatment and on-site gas generation, the system flowed through a refrigerant dryer and filter, culminating in an Anox Membrane N2 generator. The entire physical setup was connected with aluminium piping. The setup provided a real-world visualization of how a proper CDA system with an on-site gas generation layout.

Expanding the seminar and the CDA system on display, the seminar also featured an exhibition booth from Kobelco Welding Asia Pacific (KWAP). A standout attraction for attendees was their Virtual Reality (VR) welding simulator, which provided an immersive environment to experience and practice hands-on welding techniques.
